When I was younger (and not quite as aware of consequences) I used to set up relay mail servers and send out perfectly spoofed mail from president@whitehouse.gov to people who made assumptions about security. My spoofs were perfect (other than the fact they did not originate from white-house ip address...

Making users think Firefox is IE6

I have had customers... that the mere word "...change!" scares them into tears. Some people just can not wrap their heads around concepts like Favorites being the same thing as Bookmarks. The solution? Hand them Firefox3, in a way that they are not even aware you did. Everyone wins.

Convincing random poloroids with iMagick

This is some proof-of-concept code for how practical automated image tools like ImageMagick (IMagick) can be in the real world, and in many situations can be more practical than Photoshop or even Gimp.

Here I generate a convincing random array of poloroids images using nothing but a PHP script.

OpenID and why it matters.

OpenID is an amazing up and coming open source ( and corporate backed ) effort to accompolish a single goal: to have one login for most websites on the internet.

If you have an account with services like Yahoo, AOL, Google, Blogger, MySpace, MSN, WordPress, or LiveJournal... you probably already have an OpenID you can use on hundreds of other websites.

Just say no to IE6

Internet Explorer 6 is over 7 years old, however millions of people are still using it despite the fact it lets viruses and spyware easily download on peoples machines and is very slow at loading web sites if at all. Some quick reasons and resources to switch from IE6 to a modern web browser.
